NZ earthquake killed 65 people, 200 people could have been left in the building

Reuters Wellington 22] by the earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand's second largest city, killing at least 65 people. The Local continues to work to find somebody who left the building collapsed, the number of casualties is expected to increase.

Christchurch is the second earthquake in the past five months, as New Zealand's worst natural disasters in the past 80 years.
The earthquake occurred at lunch time, the scale of earthquake magnitude (M) 6.3. The source depth is 4 km. The epicenter was 10 km southwest of Christchurch.
Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker, for local radio, said there could have been left in the building up to 200 people.
The hospital continues to transport the wounded, hospital officials said many seriously injured.
In the affected areas by helicopter and fire fighting, rescue work continues to be heavy.
The power company said, regional power outage is expected to be about half Nikake Christchurch tomorrow.

地震が発生したのは昼食時で、地震の規模はマグニチュード（Ｍ）６．３。震源の深さは４キロ。震源はクライストチャーチの南西１０キロ。 　

クライストチャーチのボブ・パーカー市長は、地元ラジオに対し、最大で２００人が建物内に取り残されている可能性があると述べた。

病院には負傷者の搬送が続いており、病院関係者は重傷者も多いと指摘。

被災地ではヘリコプターによる消火活動や、重機による救助作業が続いている。

また電力会社によると、明日にかけクライストチャーチの約半分の地域が停電となる見込み。　

地震を受け、ニュージーランドドルは対米ドルで米国時間の取引終盤から約１．８％下落し０．７５米ドルをつけた。

また豪ウエストパック銀行は、地震の影響でニュージーランド中央銀行が政策金利を引き下げる可能性があるとの見方を示している。

ニュージーランドで積極的に事業展開をしていることから、オーストラリアの銀行と保険会社の株価は下落。ただ、格付け会社フィッチは、地 震がニュージーランドの格下げにつながる可能性は低いとの見解を明らかにした。
