東北新幹線の新型車両「はやぶさ」が５日にデビューし、新青森～東京を最高時速３００キロ、最短３時間１０分で運行を始めた。 


　青森市のＪＲ新青森駅は、上りの一番列車「はやぶさ４号」の乗客や新型新幹線のデビューを一目見ようという人たちで朝早くから混雑した。出発式では、青森・三村県知事ら関係者がテープカットをして「はやぶさ」のデビューを祝った。そして、５日午前６時１０分、「はやぶさ４号」は静かに走りだし、東京駅へと出発した。 
　「はやぶさ」は、東北新幹線の全線開業にあわせて開発された最新鋭の車両。最高時速３００キロで運転し、新青森～東京を最短３時間１０分と「はやて」よりも１０分短縮する。開業のシンボルは注目度も高く、青森県内の関係者は一層の新幹線効果を期待している。 


　三村県知事「（去年）１２月４日の開業以来、本当にたくさんの方々が青森に来てくれています。国内外の方々が、私たちの真っ白な美しい青森とか、おいしい青森とか、おもてなしの心を感じてくれていました。その方々の感動をまた、あらためてこの『はやぶさ』で青森に来ていただいて、さらに感じていただきたい」 


　デビューを祝うセレモニーはＪＲ東京駅でも行われ、男性が線路に落ちるトラブルのため７分遅れの５日午前８時１９分、下りの一番列車を送り出した。 
　「はやぶさ」は新青森～東京を一日２往復し、１３年３月には最高時速３２０キロで運転する。
