元サッカー日本代表・中田英寿氏が、日本の匠たちを紹介する新番組『Revalue NIPPON Project 中田英寿　日本をつなぐ』（3月5日スタート 後9：54～　日本テレビ系）でMCを務めることが23日、わかった。同番組では、京都の和菓子職人や石川県の九谷焼職人などの元に中田氏が訪問し、実際に“匠の技”を体感。日本全国を旅して得た様々な発見や出会いを通して、独自の視点から“日本の魅力”を紹介する。

中田氏いえば2006年に現役を引退後、世界１５０以上の地域を旅するなど、様々な人種、文化と交流してきた。09年からは日本全国をめぐる旅をスタートさせ、旅を通して数多くの素晴らしい人物、そして日本の文化と出会い、交流を重ねてきた。

番組では全国様々な地域の工芸や芸能といった伝統文化、農業、ものづくりの技術、そして人間の温かさを、毎回１つずつ取り上げ、紹介していく。京都にある和菓子の老舗・末富では、実際に和菓子作りにチャレンジ。花びら餅や、お雑煮の中に入る餅など、お菓子ひとつひとつが持つ背景を熱心に聞いた中田氏は、顧客ニーズに丁寧に応える日本ならではの真摯な姿勢が、表れているように感じたという。
